Cube of Force
- Description
- A black, shiny cube of unknown origin
- This cube is sheer on all sides, with edges that appear infinitely small
- Upon examination, it is a sliding puzzle of some kind; DC35 Investigation once daily to attempt to unlock it
- Known Information
- It is a Cube of Force!
- You can use an action to enter a specific pattern of buttons, twists, and rotations, expending a number of charges based on the chosen combination, as shown in the Cube of Force Combinations table.
- Each combination has a different effect.
- If the cube has insufficient charges remaining, or an incorrect combination is entered, nothing happens.
- Activating the cube springs a barrier of invisible force into existence, forming a cube 15 feet on a side.
- The barrier is centered on you, moves with you, and lasts for 1 minute, until you use an action to press the cube's sixth face, or the cube runs out of charges.
- You can change the barrier's effect by entering a different combination on the cube and expending the requisite number of charges, resetting the duration.

The Captains tried a bunch of things with the cube
First attempt
- They pulled the button, and a red light shined from within, and then it snapped back into place
- Zo cast Shilellaighgh on it again, and one of the corners rotated
- Ari licked it, and it tasted tangy, kind of like copper or a battery
- Gyrnst was going to hook it up to mains power on the ship, but forgot to unplug the fridge from the wall, and shocked himself into tomorrow
Second attempt
- Zo cast Shilelleagh on it again, one of the corners rotated
- Gyrnst pulled the button and rotated the corner a quarter turn
- The button stayed out, and the light starts red, and changes to blue
- Pucc attempts to investigate the light, but doesn't know if it's tech or not
- Zo intuits with a dirty 20 that it's an arcane artifact
- Ari rotates it like a rubix cube perpendicular to the button
- Shadow pushes button, the whole thing spins and goes back into place
